London aims to promote equality and diversity through all of its campaigns. The two week Pride festival uses theatre, music, debate, art and entertainment to raise awareness of discrimination and the issues and difficulties affecting the lives of LGBT people around the world. Our Parade is an explosion of Pride in the heart of the capital, attracting over 500,000 people in a celebration of diversity. Through this we aim to promote a sentiment in favour of equality, uniting people in a celebrative atmosphere where all are welcome, and fostering a sense of community within the LGBT population. Overall, Pride London hopes to promote understanding and cooperation, as well as education in diversity, in order to get rid of the discrimination faced by LGBT people. |

The Pride London Festival Fortnight started in 2006 when London hosted EuroPride.
It has now grown into a richer and more diverse experience and will continue to develop ever year.
In 2009 there really was something for everyone as we introduced a new operations model. We celebrated our achievements, looked forward to our futures and thought about who we are, what community means and why we are here. You can find out more in the festival archive.
